Welcome from the Lower School Principal
Welcome to the Lower School at ASL, where the next chapter in your child’s journey begins. Our highly skilled and talented faculty are passionate early years educators who provide rich learning experiences for students from K1 to Grade 4. Balancing a rigorous curriculum with a joyful approach to instruction, students acquire the skillset they need for continued success, and cultivate a love for learning that will help guide them through future challenges and prepare them to thrive in a global society.
Our academic programs are purposefully designed to actively engage students in learning through inquiry and investigation. Inquiry-based education encourages curiosity, creativity and collaboration, skills critical today for the entrepreneurs, engineers and designers of tomorrow. Core subjects in literacy, math, science and social studies are further enriched and complimented by specialized instruction in music, art, PE, technology and Spanish classes.
ASL nurtures a vibrant and inclusive school community, where every child is known and every parent is valued as an essential partner in their child’s education. Our core values of respect, responsibility, kindness, integrity and the courage to act are woven through all aspects of school life. We are committed to creating experiences and memories that together construct a greater sense of school spirit, pride and belonging.
Through our after-school programs, In Pursuit of Passion (IPoP), and extensive field studies, students are invited to explore a wide range of exciting opportunities within the world-class city of London. Whether gardening in Honeypot Lane or visiting museums to help us understand the world from another perspective, we take positive action to make our community and world a better place.
At ASL, we want children to love school and develop a strong sense of themselves as lifelong learners and leaders who will make a lasting and positive impact on their world.
