We are now accepting applications for the 2017-18 school year. 

Please note: We are fully enrolled for the 2016-17 academic year. Please contact the admissions office before beginning an application for January 2016 as we do not anticipate availability.

Step 1: Submit online application by 15 January.

There is an application fee of £250 per student payable through the admissions portal. The fee is waived for families applying for financial aid.

Families who miss the 15 January deadline will be considered on a rolling basis.

Step 2: Submit supporting documents via the admissions portal by 31 January.

Applications are considered complete once we have received all of the supporting documents listed below and priority is given to applications completed by 31 January. Parents are notified of admissions decisions in late February/early March.

Families who are unable to submit all of the required documents by 31 January will be considered on a rolling basis.

Requirements

Lower School (Grades K1-4)

Upload materials via the admissions portal. It is each family’s responsibility to ensure that all required information is received by ASL by the deadlines. Required forms are available in the portal.

Age eligibility

Applicants for K1 must turn four years old by 31 August and applicants for K2 must turn five by 31 August. We require all students to be fully toilet trained in order to begin school. Please click here for a chart comparing grade levels and ages across US, IB and UK curriculums.

School records

Transcript or copies of report cards for 2 ½ years, including the fall semester of the current year, translated into English. Please do not send originals.

Teacher Recommendations

Submit one Teacher Recommendation from the applicant's current teacher. Recommendations should be completed after 15 November to be received by 31 January. Required forms are available in the portal.

Applicant questionnaire

Complete the Applicant Questionnaire after 15 November to be received before 31 January.  Required forms are available in the portal.

Middle School (Grades 5-8)

Upload materials via the admissions portal. It is each family’s responsibility to ensure that all required information is received by ASL by the deadlines. Required forms are available in the portal.

School records

Transcript or copies of report cards for 2 ½ years, including the fall semester of the current year, translated into English.  Please do not send originals.

Standardized testing

Students applying for Grades 5-12 must submit the results of one recent standardized test. The following standardized tests will be considered:

  • Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE)
    To register for a testing date for the ISEE, contact the ERB testing organization, www.erblearn.org. The ISEE code for ASL is 724412. Please note that this is a US website; the dates on the ISEE website are in month/day/year format.
  • Secondary School Admissions Test (SSAT)
    To register for a testing date for the SSAT, contact the SSAT testing organization, www.ssat.org. The SSAT school code for ASL is M740.  Please note that this is a US website; the dates on the SSAT website are in month/day/year format.
  • Comprehensive Testing Program from the ERB (CTP)
    Students may have taken this test in their current school

Examples of standardized tests we DO NOT ACCEPT include NWEA/MAP, IOWAs, CAT (Cognititve Abilities Test), TerraNova, UK SATS and U.S. state testing.
