Battle of the Decades

The battle is over, thank you for taking part! The final results will be announced very soon!

We are challenging all alumni to an epic battle of the decades! The battle takes place from Tuesday, 23 to Wednesday, 31 May 2023!

Last year, the 1990s emerged victorious with 167 points. Will they prevail, or will the runners-up, the 2000s take the lead!?

For three plus decades, thanks to thousands of generous donors, the Annual Fund has been crucial in supporting many aspects of school life at ASL. From Alternatives trips to theater productions, the Annual Fund has shaped so many unforgettable Eagle memories! Which decade deserves to be declared number one? Let’s grasp the chance to find out!

How to play

Playing is easy! All you have to do is make a gift of any amount to the Annual Fund between now and Tuesday, 30 May, and you’ll automatically earn a point for your decade*! You can win extra points if...

  • You have signed up to ASL Connects, our alumni networking platform

  • You graduated from ASL in, 2020, 2021 or 2022

  • You met your partner at ASL—tell us their name

  • Another member of your family member attended ASL—tell us their name

  • You referred a friend to give in this challenge—tell us their name

  • You attended an ASL event in the last 12 months 

  • You volunteer for ASL

  • You were employed at ASL at any point

  • You follow ASL on Instagram—tell us your handle (If not, follow us now and you’ll win the point)

  • You like ASL on Facebook—tell us your Facebook name (If not, like us now and you’ll win the point)

  • You give more this year than you did in your last gift to the Annual Fund 

  • This is your first gift to the Annual Fund

  • You are a member of our 10-year giving society

  • You won the Endurance Award at ASL and are considered a Lifer

  • You are a member of the Bruce House Society

  • You tell us your favorite song from your decade (We’ll use this to create a playlist!)

* we will consider your decade the one in which you graduated or would have graduated.
 

How to win

The decade with the most points by end of day on Tuesday, 30 May, will officially be declared the best decade! Not only will the winning decade earn bragging rights as ASL’s best-ever decade, they will also be recognized on our website and social media, and each donor from that decade will receive an ASL gift!
