Every year, our Annual Fund campaign runs for five weeks, beginning in late October and ending on Giving Tuesday in early December! During this time, you will receive emails from the development office and parent/alumni volunteers asking you to participate in the Annual Fund by making a gift or pledge.
The Annual Fund is a true community effort, and is supported by a team of parents, alumni, parents of alumni, current employees, and former employees who dedicate time during the five-week campaign to rally support. We need you to help us reach our goals.
Working alongside our Annual Fund co-chairs, who help lead these efforts, you will have the chance to connect with fellow parents, alumni, and colleagues, share your passion for the ASL community, and help inspire the giving that makes every day extraordinary for our students.
Whether you can spare a few hours to reach out to friends, or help rally your child’s grade or your former classmates, joining our volunteer team is a powerful way to champion exceptional learning across the entire School.

How can I make a donation? When do I pay my pledge?
Donations can be made in British pounds sterling (GBP) or US dollars (USD) by check, credit card, or appreciated securities. Gifts via Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) or donor-advised funds (DAFs) are also accepted.
Why doesn’t ASL just raise tuition to cover the full cost of operations?
Like many top independent schools, leaving a portion of the annual budget dependent on donations allows us to rally donors from across the ASL global community to cover the difference between the real cost of an ASL education and what the school charges families.
Additionally, all donations to the Annual Fund through the ASL Foundation (a registered 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization in the US) or the ASL Foundation (UK) Ltd (registration no. 1086037) are tax-deductible—and tuition increases are not.
Is there a fundraising goal for the Annual Fund?
Building on last year’s incredible generosity—where more than 800 community members raised £1.9M—our goal this year is to raise £1.8M+ and achieve 100% parent/guardian participation. We are deeply grateful to everyone who joins us in this effort: Your shared commitment and belief in our mission truly make all the difference for our students.
What is Gift Aid?
If you are a UK taxpayer, Gift Aid allows the ASL Foundation (UK) Ltd. to claim an extra 25p for every £1 you donate at no extra cost to you (provided you pay an amount of UK income tax and/or capital gains tax equivalent to the Gift Aid claimed). Please note that gifts made via Donor Advised Funds (DAFs) are not eligible for Gift Aid. Fill out your Gift Aid form here.
Are corporate matching gifts accepted?
Yes! Many corporations match employee’s charitable gifts and each year they bring much-needed revenue. This kind of support makes a significant contribution, as it can double or triple the size of your gift.

For US federal tax purposes, the Foundation (UK) is classified as a disregarded entity and therefore contributions to the Foundation (UK) are eligible for the US federal income tax charitable deduction (US tax ID 13-6258480).
Does the school receive any revenue other than Annual Fund donations?

Can I make an Annual Fund gift or pledge outside of the five-week campaign period?
Yes! Our fundraising campaign runs for five weeks, but you may give to the Annual Fund at any time of year, and those contributions will still be counted toward our participation goals. Make your gift here.
