About the Lower School Library
The Lower School Library plays a central role in learning at ASL. It houses an extensive collection of approximately 20,000 resources, including books, magazines, and eBooks. Our librarians thoughtfully select titles that are engaging, age-appropriate, and responsive to the interests of our student population, ensuring the collection remains current and relevant. In addition, students have access to a wide range of online databases and digital subscriptions for use both at school and at home.

Borrowing guidelines

Borrowing days:
Students visit the library with their class twice during each eight-day cycle. The library is open throughout the school day, and students are welcome to visit as often as they wish. The door is always open!

Additional loans:
Additional loans are readily available to support special projects. Please ask a member of the library staff for assistance. Students and parents are also encouraged to visit the library before each school holiday to borrow extra books.

Parents in the library:
Parents are welcome to use the library as an extension of their local library. Please stop by between 2:30–3:30 p.m. (1:30–2:15 p.m. on Wednesdays) to browse, choose books, and read with your child. If you would like to visit the library outside of these hours, please schedule an appointment with a librarian by emailing ls_library@asl.org.
