The ASL Summer Program blends an exciting mix of outdoor and indoor sports, and creative activities for children age 4-17.
Based at our Waverley Place campus and at our playing fields in Canons Park, participants discover new interests, build self-confidence, and learn how to work and play as a group. The Summer Program is open to children from all schools.

Join us for an active art experience and express your creativity as we explore London’s exciting internationally renowned art scene.
Discover and draw in the presence of artworks that inspire you in the heart of London. Embark each day on a journey to renowned art galleries and contemporary exhibitions; visit iconic architecture and memorable cultural venues. You will create drawings, prints, and paintings in monochrome and color, responding to buildings and artworks you connect with.
Led by professional artists and gallery educators, we will encourage your creativity and artistic skills. You will develop your confidence to make art on location and in the art studio. We’ll provide a friendly community environment and encourage you to have fun, get to know each other and make friends whilst making art.
We will journey equipped with art backpacks containing drawing and watercolor sketchbooks, portable watercolor paint-boxes and bridges, pencils, graphite, and color sticks.
We will visit: The Courtauld Gallery and Somerset House, The Hayward Gallery and Southbank Centre, The Barbican Centre, The White Cube, Tate Modern and Tate Britain, The Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, The National Portrait Gallery, Serpentine Galleries, V&A Museum, Whitechapel Gallery
Each morning we will visit an art exhibition and cultural venue and then enjoy eating packed lunch outdoors at a location where we can draw.
In the afternoon, we return to our art studio to create paintings and prints developed from your morning sketches. We will provide you with art materials, watercolor and acrylic painting, Lino and poly board, and air-drying clay. On Friday, you’ll have all your artwork and sketchbook to take with you.
Each week, we will visit different cultural locations and new exhibitions and lead diverse art workshops. You are invited to join us for more than one week and immerse yourself in new creative experiences and expand your artistic horizons.
Weekly course schedules will be sent to parents and carers a week in advance, ensuring a seamless and organized experience for all participants. Students will need zones 1 & 2 travelcards for Central London.
Adventures in Photography (Digital), weeks 1-6

Join us for an inspirational single week of photography, or for several weeks. Open to novice and experienced photographers of all levels. Students learn how to use a digital SLR camera and develop the skills to achieve the image you want to create. Participants discover how to edit their strongest photographs. By the end of the week, you will have a digital photography portfolio on a memory stick to take home. Digital SLR cameras and memory sticks are provided. Students need comfortable shoes to walk* and explore the city, and a Zip/Oyster card to travel on public transport on our adventures. Students are welcome without previous photographic experience or knowledge. Advanced students will be supported to progress from their individual skill level.

Do you love taking creative pictures? In these workshops, we experiment with photography in many forms—each week with a different theme. These courses are appropriate for both the complete beginner, as well as the student with photography/darkroom knowledge. Every student will experience the magic of creating unusual and unique images to bring home! Each week, three days are devoted to studio/darkroom fun and two days involve field trips around London related to our theme. Trips include the Science Museum, Saatchi Gallery, National Portrait Gallery, London Zoo, and the V&A Museum.
AI-Generated Art Camp, weeks 7 & 8

"Immerse yourself in the fascinating world of artificial intelligence (AI) as you unleash your creativity through different AI-generated art tools. We learn about effective use of these tools, the process and editing, and the considerations and ethics behind creating your own AI images, in addition to learning effective ""prompt engineering"" strategies to craft visually stunning images. Participants hold a gallery of their own AI-generated art on the last day, to which parents/guardians are invited.

This camp offers children an exciting journey in the art world by exploring famous artists and their movements. Each day, students will be introduced to influential artists and their unique techniques, from Impressionism to Pop Art, from painting to sculpture. And later in the day, students will experiment with various artistic methods they learn to create their works through hands-on projects. This camp encourages children to develop their creativity while gaining a deeper appreciation for art history. By the end of the week, students will showcase their creations in a final exhibition, celebrating their artistic growth. The camp is designed to inspire self-expression, build confidence and nurture a lasting love for art.

This camp is a perfect opportunity for children to explore their creativity and dive into the world of art and design. During each week, the camp offers a wide range of indoor and outdoor projects and activities that inspire children to develop their artistic skills and express their unique ideas through various art forms. While engaging in the principles of art and design, children develop their own board games, storyboards and printmaking techniques. The camp is designed to provide an environment that encourages self-expression, fosters imagination and cultivates a love for art in children.

This camp is a weeklong exploration of creative ideas with opportunities to sketch, and make and share them in an inclusive setting. Calling all film lovers! This camp is an introduction into the world of video production. Campers will learn the fundamentals of filmmaking in a hands-on introduction to video production and editing. By conceiving, planning and executing a series of short creative productions, campers will explore how video techniques are used to create feelings and tell a story.
Ceramics and Creative Arts Camp, weeks 2-3

In this offering, an imaginative and creative exploration of the magical material called clay, participants use a variety of traditional methods and techniques: coiling, slab building, modeling and 'hrowing on the potter's wheel. Students have the opportunity to make and decorate pieces using a variety of bright underglaze colors and slips, and a safe glaze finish. The informal studio atmosphere allows students to flex their creative imaginations and everyone will complete at least one or two pieces. For variety, other creative arts forms will be explored in addition to ceramics.
Culture, Cooking and Crafts Camp, week 8

This is a fun-packed program filled with cultural studies through manga and anime, and craft making to celebrate summer festive events and exciting culinary experiences! Children learn about Japanese food culture and enjoy sushi-making, onigiri-making and even cooking Japanese sweets.

This is a fun-packed program filled with cultural studies through manga, anime and museum visits in central London to act as a source of inspiration for craft making to celebrate summer festive events. We not only learn Japanese culture through manga and anime, but also visit a Japanese-themed area of a museum and get inspired by Japanese design to create our own artwork. Our visit will be to either the Young V&A, the British Museum, or the V&A. Students need to arrive on our trip day with an activated children's Zip/Oyster card, and are encouraged to bring £5-15 in case they wish to purchase items.
Dance Exploration, weeks 7-8

This camp offers a comprehensive and creative experience for all levels, designed to nurture both technical skill and artistic expression. Each day, we introduce a dance style and/or famous dancer (representing various ethnicities, genders and abilities). Exercises emphasize alignment, balance and core strength. Students explore the use of space, moving across the floor and building spatial awareness. As part of their creative journey, campers dive into interpretation and expression by listening to instrumental music, reflecting on the mood, and translating those feelings into movement and story through improvisation. Rhythm is explored through the basics of tap dancing and instrument use and incorporating found objects to deepen their musicality. Afternoons introduce body centering and gentle stretching to promote relaxation and recovery, followed by a focus on storytelling, where students connect with beloved childhood characters to inspire movement and expression. Students learn short choreographed pieces to perform for families on Friday. No previous dance experience is required. Clothing and shoes must be comfortable : dance sneakers, ballet shoes or jazz shoes are recommended. Tap shoes are not necessary, but students may bring them if they have them.
Masterchef and Crafts Camp, weeks 2-3

Participants use the ASL kitchen and the commons to learning cookery skills and enjoy exciting culinary experiences. Cooking is led by experienced ASL teachers and includes expert instruction from one of ASL's chefs, courtesy of our school caterers Holroyd Howe. Age-appropriate recipes are used as our mini masterchefs prepare dishes. Days include craft experiences to balance out activities.
Perform Theater Camp, weeks 1-8

Join the Perform Theatre Company for drama, dance and singing. On Friday afternoon, participants perform in a special show with live music and colorful costumes for invited parents/guardians and friends. If a live performance is not possible, a video of the performance will be shared with families. These workshops are run by an energetic team of actors who inspire and encourage the children's creativity, confidence and communication skills. No experience necessary; enthusiasm is all students need for this fantastic course and they will have the time of their lives discovering new talents with their friends.

Every morning, we learn about story structure so we can dissect and reinvent simple stories. Campers revamp characters and the central story, tell the tale from a different perspective, explore the anti-story, alter the story experience through an environmental shift, add or take away characters, or tell the audience the thoughts of certain characters. Each afternoon, we use a different artistic medium to further explore the story. Through art, song, drama and movement, we relay the story to each other.

Calling all writers! Storyscape London is a creative writing camp for young storytellers age 9-12 where we use the city to spark our imaginations! Each day, we will visit inspiring London locations such as the British Museum, Regent's Park, and the National Gallery to gather ideas for our creative pieces. We return to campus for engaging writing workshops to help campers build confidence in their creativity, explore new ways of expressing themselves, and bring their ideas to life. The final day of camp offers a chance to share and celebrate our favorite pieces of writing from throughout the week.
Campers who are 11 or 12 will need a Children's Zip/Oyster card for our adventures.
Toucan Roar: Comedy Acting Workshop, week 8

Our high-energy rehearsals are packed with engaging exercises, character exploration and improvisation, ensuring that every child feels empowered to bring their unique creativity to the stage. The workshop is all about having fun, embracing teamwork and enjoying the process—culminating in a fantastic end-of-week performance where students get to showcase their hard work in front of an audience, which is also filmed for those who can’t attend. Join this offering for an immersive and dynamic performing arts workshop, where students collaborate with industry professionals to devise an original piece of theater based on themes that matter to them. Across five exciting days, participants explore acting, singing, dance and physical theater, culminating in a final performance that showcases their creativity, talent and hard work.
Devising theater and script development:
Work alongside a professional screenwriter and actor to develop an original script, create compelling characters, and explore comedy acting. Students will have the opportunity to write, improvise and shape the narrative, ensuring their voices and ideas take center stage.
Singing and vocal performance:
Led by a professional singer-songwriter, students will learn how to act through song, creating presence and storytelling beyond lyrics. They will develop rounds, harmonies and choir techniques, and have ample opportunity to shine in solos, exploring different vocal styles to uncover their unique sound.
Dance and physical theater:
With guidance from a professional dancer, students will experience a fusion of commercial dance and physical theater, learning a choreographed dance piece while developing movement skills that enhance storytelling and stage presence.

Come in and immerse yourself in all fashion-related things for a week! You will not only learn about British fashion icons but will have a chance to make collages inspired by their work. You will also learn how to sketch your ideas like a professional designer and create a lineup of your own. At the end of the week, you will have a sketchbook filled with ideas and a tote bag designed and sewn by you.

Especially designed with our youngest participants in mind, this offering provides a safe environment in which children engage in a variety of activities crafted around a weekly theme. There is an emphasis on fun and cooperative play, combined with a structure that enables children to continue to build confidence and make new friends—the hallmarks of the Discovery Camp program. For all children in this offering, an hour of swimming is included each week. Parents/guardians will be informed which day swimsuits and towels are required. Formerly known as Kindercamp, this offering is suitable for children age 4-5. Please note that children must be 4 years of age before they can enroll in Discovery Camp and should be able to use the bathroom without assistance. We reserve the right to cancel enrollments of children too young or too old to attend our programs.

Would you like to make new friends, and discover and explore London tourist attractions? If so, this is the camp for you! On Monday, students explore a London Tourist Guide and choose the locations they would like to visit during the week. Each morning, students write their plan for the day, then take a trip to museums, parks and sights in London. Students who wish to practice their French- and Spanish-speaking skills have the option of conversing the entire week in French or Spanish with their camp leaders. We travel on TfL to visit places around London, so students need to arrive each day with an activated children's Oyster card. Students are encouraged to bring £5-10 each day, in case they wish to purchase items from local markets.

This camp offers children the opportunity to participate in a day of fun-filled activities that include kickball, soccer and crazy cricket, as well as many others. These activities are organized for short periods and on a less intensive level than for older children. Campers also have the chance to visit the mud kitchen and sandpit, play hide and seek, and spend quiet time in the learning hut. Campers bring their own packed lunch.

This is the camp for those who want to play games, explore local parks and playgrounds around St. John’s Wood, have picnics outside, and finish with a splash-and-play session in ASL’s six-lane swimming pool, while making new friends and having fun! No swimming experience required but children must be comfortable with being in the water.

Join us for an opportunity to learn the geography and diverse culture of the world. Each day, we explore interesting facts about the continent in fоcus and engage in hands-on activities that enhance our knowledge and creativitŃ. From Africa's deserts to South America's rаinforests, Asia's mountain ranges, and AntarctŃca's snowy landscapes, each day brings new adventures. Our aim is to spark curiosity, creativŃty and a greater understanding of the diverse world we live in while encouraging teamwork and global awareness. Activities: engaging in cultural crafts, playing interactive games (such as scavenger hunts and board games), tasting snacks from аround the world, preparing simple dishes like tropical fruit salad and Greek salad, learning traditional dances, and more.

Adventure seekers and nature lovers wanted! Come and experience the freedom to roam free as we venture to Hampstead Heath to explore the vast wild nature of north London. Breathe the fresh air, climb trees, build forts—it’s up to you and what the environment presents to us each visit. Learn about the local flora and fauna while developing an understanding of the world and the environment by connecting with your emotions, imagination and senses. Be prepared to have some wild fun and adopt the Scandinavian philosophy: there is no such thing as bad weather, only inappropriate clothing! We plan to enjoy nature rain or shine, so come prepared. Participants should come prepared for the outdoors: waterproofs, warm layers and outdoor shoes are a must.

Immerse yourself in the world of debate and public speaking with the Socratic Club. Join our debating club led by our experienced and passionate team, with a focus on current affairs and philosophical topics—a great way for students to develop their skills and confidence in a supportive and motivated environment. Each session works on a new debating skill, helping our students build their argumentation and public speaking abilities, both as an individual speaker and also in a team format—from rhetorical questions to points of information, active listening and summary speaking. Debating and public speaking are exceptionally useful for presentation work and interviews at whatever level. Those that attend this week will be eligible to enter one of our competitions and in turn compete for a debating grade in our unique certification process. For more details, visit our website. What types of natural resources are used to make the objects we use in everyday life? Do you want to investigate different types of animals and plants, take a journey through the human body, look at your DNA, or design an unbreakable tower? If you do, then welcome to the amazing Science Camp! Join us for fun and hands-on experiments, outdoor activities, quizzes, design-thinking challenges and exploration time. We investigate animals, plants, the human body, earth systems, space and materials. Each day, participants perform 2-3 experiments on a new topic that promotes their scientific interest. Days are divided into two parts. In the mornings, students perform hands-on experiments to help them to stay curious as they grow up. In the afternoons, we encourage students to think critically and solve problems through a design-thinking and inquiry approach.

This program is aimed squarely at beginners. It’s an introduction to touch typing with a focus on learning and mastering the home row keys (the essential middle row of the keyboard), while improving typing speed and technique. Depending on the student’s individual pace and progression, once they are comfortable with the home row keys, they move on to learning the top and/or bottom row keys. There are a multitude of fun games to help students remember the home row keys and other keys as they progress. Students use the online program Dance Mat Typing to practice their typing skills. Research shows that consistency in practice helps students gain confidence in learning this life skill.

Calling all writers! Storyscape London is a creative writing camp for young storytellers age 9-12 where we use the city to spark our imaginations! Each day, we will visit inspiring London locations such as the British Museum, Regent's Park, and the National Gallery to gather ideas for our creative pieces. We return to campus for engaging writing workshops to help campers build confidence in their creativity, explore new ways of expressing themselves, and bring their ideas to life. The final day of camp offers a chance to share and celebrate our favorite pieces of writing from throughout the week.
Campers who are 11 or 12 will need a Children's Zip/Oyster card for our adventures.

This camp is open to new and experienced players. Campers are grouped by age as well as playing experience. A teacher is assigned to lead the group on an adventure. Over the course of the week, students create characters, play a campaign spanning the entire week, make their own polyhedral dice and 3D print miniatures, and more! Students that sign up for both weeks are given the opportunity to continue the campaign that they started in the first week (subject to re-enrollment). D&D is a game about storytelling in worlds of swords and sorcery. Like games of make-believe, D&D is driven by the imagination. It’s about picturing a crumbling castle in a darkening forest and imagining how a fantasy adventurer might react to the challenges that scene presents.

Can you imagine a world with helpful and friendly robots roaming the streets? Or a world where you can experience your favorite stories and games simply by wearing a high-tech pair of glasses? With us, you can try your hand at designing and coding a robot to tackle various fun challenges and develop your coding skills to create digital stories and games. We have a team of instructors who have a deep knowledge of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) educational tools. We take a personalized academic approach to meet students where they’re at and build their skills up from there. Each week has a different theme and will be open to all who are passionate about technology—whether you have loads of experience or are simply interested in trying something new!

Participants will work independently and collaboratively to build Lego WeDo robots with various mechanisms. They will also learn how to code these robots with Scratch and create fun animations to accompany their robot’s movements. Students will share their creations with their classmates throughout the week and will have pictures of their robot creations and their Scratch animations sent home so students can continue their creative process at home. This is a great course for students who have a passion for using technology and building with Legos.
Emerging Young Animators, weeks 1, 5, 7, 8 & 9

Participants will express their creativity in storytelling through making digital animations and games with Scratch. Participants will also build entry-level Lego Spike Essential robots and code them with Lego’s Scratch-integrated user interface. Students will be able to share their creations with their classmates throughout the week and their digital creations will be sent home so students can share and continue their creative processes at home. This is a great course for students who have a passion for using technology and are keen to bring their imaginations to life through coding.
Emerging Young Game Creators, weeks 2, 3, 4 & 6

Participants will learn the fundamentals of the CoSpaces educational tool to create games and build Lego Spike Essential robots to complete our Maze Challenge. Students will share their creations with their classmates throughout the week. This is a great course for students who have a passion for using technology and are interested in designing 3D computer games as well as building Lego robots to complete various challenges.
Emerging Young Python Robotics, weeks 2 & 9
Age: 10-14
Enrollment: up to 12 students
Participants will build Lego Spike Prime robots and learn how to code them to move and use sensor data to make decisions using the Python programming language. Students will use these techniques to tackle various challenges as well as the Robot Game Challenge from the FIRST Lego League Challenge: SUBMERGED. Once their robot is complete, students will test their robot design against missions to see if they can code their robots to navigate an environment and score points in the challenge. This course is targeted to students who are experienced coders and would like to further their computational thinking skills; and is a great opportunity for students who want to excel in the 2025-26 season of the FIRST Lego League Challenge.
Emerging Young Robotics Competitors, week 4, 5 & 7

Emerging Young Robot Inventors week 6
Age: 8-12
Enrollment: up to 16 students
Participants will work in partnerships to construct Lego Spike Prime robots with functions of their own design. Students will discuss ways they could build a robot that could help them in their daily lives and collaborate to draw up a blueprint of how their design will work. They will then execute their plans and go through the design process to prototype and refine their robot and code it to perform their desired functions. This course is targeted to students who are passionate about robotics and building with Legos.
Emerging Young Robot Olympians, weeks 1, 3 & 8
Age: 9-12
Enrollment: up to 16 students
Students will work in small teams to design robots to compete in this year’s Robot Olympics. They will learn how to build different mechanisms and apply these designs to enable their robots to compete in Olympic challenges. Students will try using new mechanisms and follow the engineering design process to improve their designs as the week goes on. Robots will be built out of Lego Spike Prime pieces and will be programmed to activate motorized attachments for each challenge. This course is catered to students who are looking to extend their engineering and design skills and enjoy building and coding with Legos.
Touch Typing Camp, weeks 4-7

This program is aimed squarely at beginners. It’s an introduction to touch typing with a focus on learning and mastering the home row keys (the essential middle row of the keyboard), while improving typing speed and technique. Depending on the student’s individual pace and progression, once they are comfortable with the home row keys, they move on to learning the top and/or bottom row keys. There are a multitude of fun games to help students remember the home row keys and other keys as they progress. Students use the online program Dance Mat Typing to practice their typing skills. Research shows that consistency in practice helps students gain confidence in learning this life skill.

Participants work on the basic skills of basketball for most of the day, e.g., ball-handling, passing and shooting, and learning offensive and defensive plays. The other part of the day is spent in the ASL swimming pool, where students can enjoy water games, free swim and refreshing fun. Each week, campers should report to the Farmer Family Gymnasium, dressed appropriately for basketball, but also with swimsuits and towels ready for later in the day. Participants can join for one or all weeks. Campers provide their own lunch and drinks.
Beginner Cheerleading, weeks 1, 2 & 9

Participants work on basic cheerleading skills—cheers, chants, jumps and an introduction to stunting techniques. Basic gymnastics skills covered include flexibility and coordination, but exclude advanced tumbling. This program offers a supportive environment for cheerleaders of all levels to improve their individual and collaborative skills in cheer. Athletic wear and trainers are required to participate. Participants are encouraged to wear (or bring) sweatpants for appropriate coverage when doing floor work.

ASL students have the opportunity to take part in two weeks of crew camps held on the Thames, in Chiswick. The camp is open to students (Grade 8-12) with no previous rowing experience needed. New rowers have a chance to experience a sport they may have never thought about before and experienced rowers have an opporunity to top up their technical skills leading into the next school year.

This camp offers children the opportunity to participate in a full day of fun-filled activities that include kickball, soccer and crazy cricket, as well as many others. These activities are organized for short periods and on a less intensive level than for older children. Campers also have the chance to visit the mud kitchen and sandpit, play hide and seek, and spend quiet time in the learning hut. Campers bring their own packed lunch.

Looking for a fun, fast-paced way to keep your child active while developing top-notch soccer skills? This is the perfect opportunity! Originating from South America, Futsal is an exciting, high-intensity version of indoor football that has produced some of the world’s greatest players, including Pelé, Messi and Ronaldo. Played on a smaller pitch with a heavier ball, Futsal enhances creativity, ball control and quick decision-making—skills that translate directly to outdoor soccer. Designed for children of all skill levels, our camp focuses on improving footwork, agility and teamwork—all in a safe and exciting environment. Mornings are dedicated to skill-based practices, where players sharpen their technique under our expert coaches. Afternoons bring the excitement of matches, tournaments and even some on-screen football analysis! Campers need to bring their own packed lunch. Trainers or astro turf football shoes are fine. All equipment will be provided.

So that all participants are challenged in a supportive environment, children are placed in age and/or ability groups where appropriate. The program supplies sports equipment for activities, although students with their own tennis rackets are encouraged to use them. Students bring their own lunch. For soccer, tennis, multi-sports and personal sports in weeks 1-10, families need to choose one combination of two sports. For example: tennis and multi-sports, or personal sports and soccer.er.
Tennis
Beginners and intermediate players who want to improve their basic game should sign up early for this class with our coaches. There areĀ games and drills that focus on service, returns, groundstrokes and volleys. Please note that to ensure safe and productive sessions, enrollment is limited for each class. Rackets and balls are supplied, but students with their own equipment are welcome to use it.
Soccer
This most universal of sports is offered for players who want to improve their skills and understanding of the game. For those trying out for a school or club team next season, or for those who just want to have fun learning how to play, our coaches are primed to instruct both the basics and the finer points of the game. The emphasis is on introducing and improving rudimentary skills, such as shooting, passing, heading and dribbling, as well as tackling the more advanced techniques of offensive and defensive play. Students learn in a competitive but friendly atmosphere.
Multi-sports Camp
Multi-sports offers a range of team sports that are dynamic, exciting and above all fun. Campers learn new games as well as play much-loved and established favorites. Multi-sports is different each day and may include softball, kickball, ultimate frisbee, flag football, tennis, touch rugby, dodgeball, and capture the flag.

ASL has a six lane, 25-meter swimming pool. We offer an aquatics program along as part of the Summer Program. Try a weeklong, 30-minute per day 1:1 swimming lesson to improve your child’s swimming ability and water confidence in a short period of time. Ideal for pre-holiday improvements, stroke development, and general safety in the water before school starts in the fall. For 1:1 swimming lessons, swimmers under the age 11 must have an adult on site with them while they attend the sessions.

This offering teaches children self-awareness and positive self-talk as well as developing physical flexibility, strength and coordination. Together with a daily session of yoga, children practice different breathing techniques, relax to body scans and participate in visually guided and silent meditations to get in touch with their internal landscape. By the end of the week, children will be able to notice their thoughts, feelings, body sensations and be more present in each moment, which helps with their emotional self-regulation, focus and confidence. The offering also involves an hour in the pool where the children will play water games and free swim. Please note that swimming will take place Monday-Thursday only (not Fridays).
No swimming experience required but children must be comfortable with being in the water.

Participants use the ASL kitchen and the commons to learning cookery skills and enjoy exciting culinary experiences. Cooking is led by experienced ASL teachers and includes expert instruction from one of ASL's chefs, courtesy of our school caterers Holroyd Howe. Age-appropriate recipes are used as our mini masterchefs prepare dishes. Days include craft experiences to balance out activities.
