ISST fever!

It’s been another successful season for ASL athletes taking part in the winter ISSTs.

Following the inaugural season of our new pool, the swim teams competed at ACS Cobham, swimming their way to the best results ASL has ever seen in the sport. For the first time in ASL history, the varsity boys won gold! Both varsity girls and JV girls were also proud to take gold, and the JV boys came in fourth place.

Three tournaments took place in Belgium, as the rugby team travelled to the British School of Brussels, the girls basketball to St. John’s International School and the boys basketball team to the International School of Brussels.

The girls basketball team won a thrillingly close game, scoring the winning basket with only 26 seconds to go. The boys basketball team took home the silver medal, after winning four straight games but losing out in the final to a strong Cobham team. The boys rugby team played well, and came in at fifth place.

Director of Athletics John Farmer ’97 commented, “A year ago, ASL celebrated our best ever spring ISST. The recent tournament certainly felt like our best ever winter ISST results—everyone played to their best of their ability, showing great team spirit. We are so proud of all our athletes!”

Go, Eagles!
