Nancy (Probst) Wight ’65, a retired neonatologist and avid world traveler, recently returned to San Diego after nearly a month at sea, sailing from Dunedin, New Zealand, to eastern Antarctica and back. The Scenic Eclipse II reached the southernmost point ever recorded for a cruise liner (77°53′S) and visited the Ross Ice Shelf. She and her partner, Wulf, explored Antarctica from the air, taking helicopter rides over its breathtaking landscapes, landing in a "dry valley" of ancient glaciers, and circling Mt. Erebus, an active volcano. Their adventure also included land excursions to historic sites, immersing them in the region’s rich exploration history.

Nancy Cable ’68 writes: “Hello ASL Class of 1968! I attended ASL from 1964 to 1966 (freshman and sophomore years) but didn’t stay to graduate with all of you. Thanks to the alumni office, I recently got in touch with Mimi Austin (Daniels) ’68 after 59 years! Such fun to reminisce about those good times! Who else is around? I’ve lived in the Boston area since college. My husband and I have two grown sons and a new granddaughter. Send me an email: nancycable@gmail.com.” The photo to the right was taken in a photo booth in 1968, and features Mimi on the left and Nancy on the right.
