Natalie & Jesse

Natalie Glaser ’97 and Jesse Williamson ’95

Natalie and Jesse overlapped at ASL in the late 80s but did not know each other at the time

How did you meet? Jesse and I didn’t know each other at ASL. We overlapped from 1987-1989 when I was in third and fourth grade and Jesse was in fifth and sixth grade. We met years later in 2013. I was friends with Jesse’s stepsister, Vaughn, who invited me to spend an August weekend with her family in Bridgehampton, NY. Jesse was there, along with his mom, stepdad, brother, sister, cousins and dogs. I met the entire family too!

What was your first impression of Jesse? There were sparkles around him. The universe was telling me that this was my soulmate. It was also a very hot summer day, so the sun could have been playing tricks on me.

What was your first date? We went to an East Village tequila bar in New York, where we sat in large bird cages and enjoyed margaritas.

How would your ASL friends and teachers describe your relationship? It was non-existent when we were in Lower/Middle School; we may have passed each other in the hallway but that’s it. Now our friends would likely describe our relationship as a thrilling roller coaster of adventure, passion and drama—everything our middle school selves would hope for!

What is your favorite shared memory of ASL? The playground. I liked to climb the wall, and Jesse liked playing basketball.

What’s your favorite thing about your partner? (Natalie) His kindness. (Jesse) Her sparkle.

Describe your life today. We were married in 2015 on the same beach where we spent that first summer weekend together. We are currently quarantining in Bridgehampton but our home is in Greenwich Village in Manhattan. We have a daughter, Sienna, who is 2 and a half.

Where do you see yourselves in 10 years? Enjoying life in New York City with plenty of escapes to the country and adventures traveling.
