What’s your connection to ASL?

I am in Grade 3 at ASL. I have two younger brothers, Westley is in Grade 1 and Keating is in K2. 

How do you reconnect with long-distance friends or family?

My grandparents live in Taiwan, and I video chat with them every weekend. Every morning I text my grandmother before I begin my day. I also video chat with my friends who have moved away, and we play video games together.

Community? During lockdown, we noticed a lot of trash in Hampstead Heath on the trails and bushes away from the main paths. My family bought a bunch of trash picking sticks, and we picked up bags and bags of trash. We have cleaned up all the parks we go to: Violet Hill, Primrose, Paddington Rec, St. John’s Wood and the Heath. 

Classmates? I meet with my friends at parks or go to their houses to play. We also call each other and play video games. My mom always tells me I’m being too loud. 

Joy? I like to see my friends at school!

Well-being? I go swimming and biking and practice Krav Maga.
