ASL socials in Chicago and New York

Five days, two cities, two parties, 100+ energetic Eagles—one incredible ASL alumni community!

Together with new Head of School Matt Horvat and Advancement Director Siofra Rucker, the alumni office hit the road to host a pair of ASL socials in the US: Chicago and New York City. On the evening of 9 March, in Chi-town, alumni from the Classes of 1975 through 2013 took in the views from the 67th floor of the famed Willis Tower at the Metropolitan Club and shared stories about their ASL experiences with Mr. Horvat. “I moved to London and ASL in September of 1972,” recounted Coe Rost ’75. Nine days later, I was in Crete. As a kid from the suburbs of Chicago, that school trip awakened me to a big world.” Allison (Johnston) Foster ’09 enjoyed spending time with ASL peers old and new. “My husband and I had such a wonderful time seeing everyone and reconnecting.”

Next up was a “knees up” in Manhattan on 11 March, where nearly 90 alumni, alumni parents and former employees gathered to talk shop about student council, ISST victories, memorable teachers and more. Among the attendees were Kleo and Kleon Phili P ’11 who enjoyed seeing friends and hearing the latest news from One Waverley Place. “The School is in excellent hands with Matt Horvat, for sure,” Kleo praised. Brendan Behlke ’93 was a newcomer to ASL events in New York and plans on attending future get-togethers. “A terrific party,” he remarked. “I look forward to reconnecting with more Eagles soon!”
