Aoife & Bob
Aoife Meehan ’93 and Bob Montgomery ’93
Goofing around at school, 1991: Mike Montgomery, Bob, Aoife and Sean Brecker
How did you meet? We met in the third grade, we were both new students. Neither of us graduated from ASL; Bob left for Hotchkiss boarding school in 1989 and my family moved away after my junior year. Bob's parents stayed in London and he and his twin brother frequently visited ASL during this school breaks.
What was your first date? We caught up on 20 years, sharing stories and memories of dear ASL friends.
How would your friends and teachers describe your relationship in middle school? Back in the day, we both vied for the best grades and studied hard. Today, we still compete with one another heartily; however, we’ve found that we perform best on the same side.
What is your favorite shared ASL memory? We were part of a regular crew of early birds who spent mornings in the Commons before class to chat, finish homework, joke around and set the tone for the day. Not a week goes by without one of us mentioning someone or referring to something related to ASL.
What is your favorite thing about each other? That we still enjoy the fun of childhood.
Describe your life today. We live in New York City. Aoife works in human resources at the United Nations, and Bob is a B2B technology copywriter.
Where do you see yourselves in 10 years? Healthy and happy, we hope!
