If you start at the main ASL web page (http://www.asl.org), it takes four clicks to get to the Middle School Technology page, and an additional click to get to this blog:

www.asl.org > Academics > Middle School > The Classroom > Technology > MS Tech Blog

One way to avoid these clicks is to bookmark the page so that you can go directly there. But you can also use a hidden shortcut built-in to SchoolNet. If you want to go to the MS Tech page directly, just type in http://www.asl.org/mstech and you'll automatically be redirected to the right place.

To avoid having to check the blog every day to see whether there are any new posts, users have two options:

1. If you use an RSS aggregator (like Google Reader, MyYahoo, Bloglines, or Netvibes), you can subscribe to the RSS feed for the blog by clicking on the "RSS 2.0" button in the upper right-hand corner of the main page of the blog.
   
   Web browsers will also let you save RSS feeds to your bookmarks / favorites folders. In addition, Apple's Safari web browser will give you a visual cue when new blog entries have been posted by listing the number of new entries since your last visit inside a set of parentheses.
   
   
2. If you would prefer to get an email any time a new blog entry is posted, then you can subscribe to an Alert by clicking the "Alerts" button in the upper right-hand corner of the main page of the blog.
