To members of the ASL
community:
We have unveiled some noticeable changes to ASL's website, www.asl.org. Although the alterations may
initially seem substantial, in fact, the function of the site and its key features remain unchanged.
The most important point to note is where you login, which is now under the "Community" tab.
You will notice an overall new graphic look utilizing the fonts, design
rules and color palette that we first introduced last summer with the
new admissions viewbook, A Journey through the Ages. Further
manifestations included the 2009-10 calendar, the directory and, most
recently, Accents magazine. This new "look" for ASL communications
strives for overall consistency in tone, content and feel. I hope you
are seeing each of these communications vehicles as a member of one
graphic family.
Aside from the aesthetic changes, the most significant shift is that we
have made as many pages as we can "public," which means that far more
of
our site is no longer password protected. All pages that contain
security-sensitive information (parent directories, student schedules,
etc.) remain private and can continue to be accessed by logging in.
Rest assured that in making more pages public we will continue to
protect members of the ASL community, and especially our students, from
unaffiliated individuals.
The key functions that were first introduced last January,
particularly to the various calendars and directories, remain
unchanged. All subscriptions for "feeds" are unaffected as well, so you
will continue to receive
notices and stories that you requested previously.
We welcome your thoughts and feedback about these changes, as our first
mandate is to deliver timely and clear news and messages about ASL and
its people to all of our constituencies - students, current and former
faculty, current and past parents, prospective families and teachers,
alumni and friends. We appreciate your keen interest in ASL.
