Pick-up and drop-off

If your child is not riding the bus in the morning, please leave a message with the transport office so that the bus does not have to wait unnecessarily.

In the morning, parents should ensure child/ren are ready and waiting at the curb for pick-up at the agreed time. If the bus can be seen clearly from inside the house, the child may wait inside as long as s/he is at the door ready to board the bus when it stops. Drivers are permitted to wait for a maximum of two minutes to take into consideration unusual circumstances. Clearly, if the bus has to wait for two minutes at each address, the bus will be delayed considerably. Please make sure that your child/ren is ready at the pick-up time. Drop-off times can only be approximate.

Drivers will not leave a K-Grade 5 student at a drop-off point unless a responsible person is there to meet the child. A responsible person is someone in Grade 7 or older. If there is any doubt, drivers will check with the transport office. Parents must supply written permission if their child is to be met by someone not meeting the above criteria. Where the drop-off point is a residential property, it will be deemed adequate if the driver or kindergarten courier can see the responsible person in the doorway of the property. If no one is present to meet the child, the transport office will be contacted and the emergency procedure will be activated.

As some children stay for after-school activities, there are times when there are fewer riders on the bus, and the run is shortened. In these instances, children may arrive at home considerably earlier than the scheduled time. It is, therefore, essential that someone is available to meet all Lower School children at least 30 minutes before the scheduled drop-off time.

All Grade 1-12 buses arrive at school between 7:50 am and 8 am (Kindgergarten buses arrive by 8:20 am). Grade 1-4 buses depart at 3:05 pm and Grade 5-12 buses depart at 3:20 pm (Kindergarten departs at 2:40 pm).

Please remember that Wednesday is early dismissal day for all students. The afternoon buses for Grades 1-4 depart at 2:05 pm (1:40 pm for Kindergarten); Grades 5-12 depart at 2:25 pm.
