The American School in London Educational Trust Limited

The American School in London Educational Trust Ltd. is a registered UK charity. Its self-perpetuating Board of Trustees is primarily made up of current and former ASL parents who set school policy. The Board, which meets monthly, is organized into six standing committees: Admin/Finance, Building and Grounds, Advancement, Investment, Trustee Affairs and Executive. There are sub committees for Neighboring Properties and Communications, and Ad Hoc committees for Compensation Philosophy and Strategic Planning.

The American School in London Foundation

The American School in London Foundation was organized in the United States in 1967 for charitable, educational and advancement purposes. It is recognized by the United States IRS as a not-for-profit/501(c)(3) organization. The Foundation Board meets twice a year in the United States.

The American School in London (UK) Limited is a wholly owned subsidiary of The American School in London Foundation and is a registered charity in both the UK and the US. The board meets from time to time; its primary objective is to advance education.

Member of the following organizations: the National Association of Independent Schools, the Council of International Schools, European Council of International Schools, the Educational Records Bureau, the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education and the London International Schools Association.

No smoking policy

The ASL campus is a smoke-free environment, and the School asks all members of the community and visitors not to smoke in the school building or on school grounds.

The American School in London is a non-denominational school and does not discriminate against any individual in any way on the basis of age, race, color, gender, disability, sexual orientation, religion or belief, nationality, or ethnic or national origin in the administration of its recruitment, admissions and educational policies.

Data protection policy

Safeguarding your personal information is something that we take very seriously at ASL. In accordance with the UK Data Protection Act of 1998, information collected by ASL is used solely for the purposes of school communications, educational procedures and programs, business office functions and fundraising, and will be made available only to relevant members of the ASL faculty and staff. In addition, unless you tell us otherwise, your personal contact details (address, email address and telephone number) will be included in the School's online and paper family directories. The online directory is only accessible to current families, and faculty and staff via the website. An online directory of alumni, parents of alumni, and former faculty and staff is available on the passworded section of our alumni website. A paper directory is distributed to all current families, faculty and staff. It is understood that by the School giving access to these directories, and by families agreeing to be listed therein, that their contents will only be used in the furtherance of ASL-related business or social contact between consenting families. Any violations of this trust will be taken very seriously. Should you have concerns about any use of your information, please contact the admissions office in writing.
