Annual Fund

Gifts to the Annual Fund provide unrestricted support and are a key component of the School’s operating budget. These gifts enable the School to provide challenging and innovative academic and co-curricular programs, attract and retain superb teachers, and support exceptional programs in athletics, technology and the arts.

The Annual Fund appeal begins each October and continues through 30 June, the close of ASL’s fiscal year. In 2008-09, the School raised £1,021,918 from 989 donors, with gifts ranging from £1 to £25,000.

Leadership Gifts:

First Friends Society
£20,000 and above—Thanks to our supporters at the highest level.

Stephen L. Eckard Society         
£10,000 to £19,999—This society honors ASL’s founder and first Head of School.

Orange & Black Society             
£5,000 to £9,999—Show your school spirit.

1951 Society                               
£1,951 to £4,999—This society honors the year of ASL’s founding.

Young Alumni Leadership Gifts:

Eagle Society                     Once an Eagle, always an Eagle.

Alumni 1-5 years out              £100 and above
Alumni 6-10 years out            £200 and above

Giving Circles:

Knightsbridge Circle                   
£500 to £1950—This society honors the School’s first location, Hans Place in Knightsbridge.

St. John’s Wood Circle               
£1 to £499—This society honors ASL’s home since 1971.

Matching gifts, challenge grants and Inland Revenue Gift Aid are all used to determine a donor's level of recognition.
