Supporting ASL
The American School in London is able to provide an outstanding education thanks to the financial and volunteer support of parents, alumni, parents of alumni, grandparents, faculty, staff, corporations and friends. The ASL community is extraordinarily generous. Each year, charitable gifts and dedicated volunteers help ensure our continued success.
ASL receives funding from several sources: tuition fees, endowment income, and unrestricted gifts in support of current operations (Annual Fund). The Annual Fund is an essential source of revenue; it allows the School to offer the excellent programs it does. While tuition to attend ASL is substantial, it does not cover the actual cost of educating each student. Gifts from all of our constituents and endowment income make up the difference.
Periodically, the School conducts capital fundraising campaigns to raise support above and beyond the Annual Fund. The SchoolWorks campaign (1999-2002) raised £11.5 million for the renovation of the Waverley Place campus. The Great Expectations campaign (2006-08) attracted £16.1 million for faculty compensation and the new School Center for Education and the Arts.
